Simple Recorder Überblick
Einfacher Recorder ermöglicht es Ihnen, sein Symbol auf der rechten Seite Ihrer Menüleiste zu finden. Klicken Sie darauf, um das Menü anzuzeigen. Sie können sein Symbol auch im Dock finden. Klicken Sie darauf, um aufzunehmen, und klicken Sie erneut, um zu stoppen. Klicken Sie mit der rechten Maustaste (oder ⌘-Klick) auf das Dock-Symbol, um das Menü anzuzeigen.

Version: 1.9
I relied on this in a pinch and cannot find the file to save me. I thought I saved it to Dropbox. No. Subsequent files are nowhere to be located. Any suggestions?

USELESS!
The app opened and displayed a "Save to this location" window.
I selected the Downloads folder, clicked the "New Folder" button and...the app froze.
I force quit and reopened. This time the "save to" dialog was not displayed. I went to the menu icon and chose Preferences>Save to this location. Again it froze when I clicked the "New Folder" button.
I went ahead and tried recording a phone call made through Google Hangouts in Safari.
When finished it asked for a save location, so I was able to choose a folder for that one file.
But it recorded NOTHING - just silence.
I record phone calls with Audio Hijack all the time, and am able to tell it WHAT to record.
To record calls in Safari I had to add GoogleTalkPlugin as the source.
Maybe the in-app or "external module purchases" would allow recording other sources, but I’m not about to pay to find out.
You get what you pay for.
Audio Hijack is expensive at $49, but it WORKS, and doesn’t require additional purchases.

According to the current description, this app's main feature seems to be the ability to "find its icon"—and in unusual places too: it's "in the dock," in the "menu bar," and even "on the right side of the menu bar!"). Simple question: What does Simple Recorder do exactly? The screenshot suggests that it records something by pressing a red button—is it the desktop, video feed from a web-cam? Does it record audio, video, both?
Here's the current description (Apr 1 2017): "Simple Recorder allows you to find its icon in the right side of your menu bar. Click it to show the menu. You can also find its icon in the dock. Click it to record, and click it again to stop. Right-click (or ⌃-click) the dock bar icon to show the menu."
